This past year, I have done more dream readings than I have done my whole life. I have enough experience now to start noticing patterns. Most dreams, as you are aware, usually deal with one or two specific things the dreamer is going through, and it is easy to interpret the symbols. However, I have received a few of the next type of dream lately, which, in fact runs like a story.
These dreams, which I will now call, story dreams, have a beginning, a middle, and an end. Just like a Tarot 3 card spread. These nightly encounters have the past, the present and the future or the past, and the full development of the issue the dreamer is going through. This is what I think is happening in this dream. Linda Eaves, my dreamer this week, confirms this when she wrote to me after the reading:
“The dream interpretation was amazing. I’ve read it twice over and will let that soak in. So many gems! It was a snapshot of the last several months for sure.”
This time, Linda did not give me any background info, so interpreting this dream was like walking in the dark partially relying on my intuition. I also used some resources, however, I am pleased with the outcome and I think Linda is too.
First, let me introduce you to Linda Eaves. She describes herself on her FB page as a: “Lover of curves, food, shopping, and irreverent humor. Aspiring minimalist. “Donate to Goodwill”: is a monthly reminder in my mobile device.” She is very outgoing with a whimsical sense of humor. Linda lives in Pacific Washington.
My roommate Susan had a home in the country and invited me and another woman out to stay. As we were arriving I heard gunshots. The neighbors were shooting at each others garage door for target practice. Nothing was wrong, it was for sport.
I asked if this was the usual behavior, and wondered why weren’t the police called. Suz was apologetic as she explained, “Yes, it’s normal. The neighborhood is beyond the border of the police service area.”
I gave her a quizzical look and she added, “The house was a really great price.”
Suz showed me to my room and I went to sleep. There were screens on the picture windows, it was a warm evening. In the morning I awoke to light and the voices of the neighbors. The houses were very close to each other, only 2 feet in between. There were two men standing outside leaning on the house next to a woman who was in the window.
I could see them clearly even with the screen and hear their conversation. I was curious so I listened and soon the woman felt someone was watching her.
Her gaze locked with mine and she gave me a withering look of pure evil. Then the two men wanted to scare me so they decided to come in through the window. I was scared, then angry. They were talking loudly, gesturing and laughing. One of them (graphic warning) urinated on the floor then the other one tried to get on top of me. I repeated in my dream several times, “Leave. Leave. LEAVE!” With that last leave I actually said it out loud and woke myself up. I felt powerful and then went back to sleep.
There was a continuation of the same dream, my intuition tells me it isn’t important to mention that part of it here.
What happened next really stuck out at me. We all piled into the car and we drove away from there traveling down a hill. The scene opened up to many beautiful homes on the hillside and down at the bottom I saw a beautiful port town with the ocean beyond it. As we drove along a tree on my left caught my attention. In its branches was this brown horned owl. We locked eyes and it watched me as I was leaving. I felt safe and loved.
Your dream is AWESOME. I see a huge shift in this dream, or more of a “crossover”. I am not sure what has happened in your life this past year, however, I see a sense of utter connection with all that is.
You are invited by your roomy to a cabin, with another woman. An invitation to get away to be with “yourself” sides of yourself would included what “Susan” mirrors in you. Think about what she represents.
The gunshots were in your dream to grasp your attention!! To wake you up, however, it is obvious they are harmful, as the guys shooting them are doing it for sport.
Think about the last time something “caught your attention” what assisted you in making changes in your life. The gunshots seem to represent the “red flags” or “alarms” to bring you to the present moment.
You wonder if this is “unusual behavior” even asking your friend to call the police.
Were you afraid? Ask yourself, now, what is going on in the back of your mind when you take time for yourself? Police often represent “authority or parents” in our dreams. Do you have a “parent” in your head calling for reason?
Your friend advises you that you are “outside the policed area” but justifies her decision at buying the house “due to the good price”.
Unprotected – yet happy about her decision, feels the need to explain.
These are the words that come to mind, when I read that statement in your dream. Has something like this happened to you lately, where you take a RISK a “leap of faith” yet feel the need to “justify”?
The windows represent your outlook on life, and the screens seem to be there to “filter” out the negative.. The bedroom a place of relaxation, and privacy, many resources I look into also say the bedrooms represents the place of sexuality.
You “observing”’ the convo between people, is like you observing the world with a filtered eye (the screen of protection) You see clearly despite the screen which is GOOD because it seems that now in your life you are clearly seeing the good and the bad.
The woman giving you the “look of pure evil” reminds me of “self-judgement. I don’t know if I am onto something, however, if you are going through a good period in your life.. is there some part of you which feels guilty?
The men entering the room through the window (which is your outlook on life) seem to be invading your personal space .. your sacred space. Urine often represents “dreams that were rejected” so the man, who represents your yang, is eliminating what you do not need anymore in your life. The men are negative, wanting to scare you? Scare you about what I am wondering? Angry that you were watching them? Revenge? Is there any of this going on in your life? (this part is a tad fuzzy for me) Maybe you can journal about this part of your dream.
Think about what the 2 men represented to you and how you felt after they scared you and one urinated on the floor.
Your anger at them, seems to represent your anger at everyone who judges you or invades this personal space of yours.
The end of this dream is absolutely amazing..
It seems to me that your dream, so far, represents your journey the last few months.
- From getting away
- To dealing with your outlook and anger
- Your personal and private space
- The urination – release!
- Telling the men to “GET OUT”
I see assertion, assertion, assertion!!
In the end, you are going downhill seeing the view of trees, houses and ocean. Houses represent our “being” so you seem to be seeing the options here.. Downhill is not necessarily a negative thing, it could mean the descent after achieving a goal.
The ocean represents letting go, vastness, and the state of your emotions and feelings, so if the ocean was vast and calm, then that is the state of your soul. Oceans also represent spirituality, refreshment, tranquility and renewal.
The trees represent: Hope, strength and knowledge.
So in the end, this is where you are at, refreshed, peaceful, strong, and wise!!
I want to thank Linda for allowing me to post her dream this week, every time someone posts their dream on #DreamFriday, it allows others to connect with similar dreams.
